Network Services
The predominant feature
in implementing a Network is to ensure the system being installed supports the business
requirements. We at Allen Technology Networkingwill assess the interconnectivity with
existing systems and ensure full system support is achieved when installing the Network.
In addition to supporting the current business systems, the Network will be capable of
future expansion within the business.
Depending on the current
system in place, the business infrastructure, the size and power of network required and
the outcome of the consultation stage, we will design a system able to support future
growth and expansions in the business. The choice of Network system will be directly
related to the strategically important areas of the business, such as sales and marketing,
logistics and production, accounts and administration
We will assess your
requirements regarding the size and power of the hardware system you require. We will
advise on appropriate back-up technology, the basic requirement giving a choice of full
automatic or selective back up of files to single or multiple servers. Allen Technology
will also supply the obligatory UPS compatible with the system. Uninterruptable Power
Supply are effectively large batteries which are connected between the mains supply and
server. In the event of a power cut the UPS will maintain power for a limited time. A UPS
protects against power surges and spikes, which is important in industrial sites.
Before the installation
begins, the route for cabling needs to be chosen ensuring ducts and trays have capacity
for future cabling extensions. The Network route must be surveyed for hazardous
environments and other constraints such as sharp bends, high temperature areas, electrical
radiation and heavy machinery. The three phases in the installation of a Network are:

management of the Network system.
As with all new
applications installed in an organisation there is a period of adjustment to the system.
In most cases a certain amount of reconfiguration and fine-tuning is required post
installation, to make the system as compatible and effective as possible. In keeping with
