As usual, providing accommodation for the
thousands who come to the Fleadh is a perennial problem. However, due to
Millennium Fleadh 2000 being the second year in succession for
Enniscorthy to host it, most of last year's applications for
accommodation through the Fleadh Accommodation Office did not
materialize, as people booked their rooms with their hosts when leaving
in 1999.

Consequently, that also means that,
although there is a lesser demand through the office, there is also a
smaller availability of accommodation to meet what is anticipated to be
a significantly increased attendance at this year's event.
Accordingly, the accommodation situation for Fleadh 2000 is as follows:-
Enniscorthy Town accommodation, either in
hotels, registered B&Bs or private houses is virtually
non-available. A number of applicants are waiting in hope of getting a
self-catering house or apartment, but the availability of these is small
in number and unpredictable in coming on-stream.
At present (the first week in August), guests are being placed up to 10
miles outside the town, with little available closer to the town.
